Domingos Nunes Xavier, hereinafter referred to as Casa da Aldeia, registered under the number 178273872, respects the privacy of visitors to its website and takes every care to protect their information, giving you an overview of how we process data, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy policy is therefore intended to provide clarification about the personal information we collect and how we may use it, as well as clarifying the security standards adopted to protect the identity and personal data of visitors.
Personal Information
Casa da Aldeia treats with deep respect and seriousness the safeguarding of its Guests’ private data as a natural person, such as name, country of birth, address, age, gender, e-mail, telephone number, credit card information, preferences and specific requests declared before, during or after the stay, including digital correspondence. This data will only be collected with the prior consent of the Guest and processed in accordance with European Union legislation on the General Data Protection Regulation.
Use of Personal Information
Our mission is to provide superior service. Personal information is collected to assist Casa da Aldeia in making reservations and providing the services requested by the guest. By keeping this data, we improve the service provided on the guest’s return, as well as allowing the Guest and Casa da Aldeia to consult previous transactions and reconcile statements or invoices. It also helps the Guest to be informed of offers of interest to them. If you do not wish to receive information, you can unsubscribe at any time.

When making a booking
When making a booking you will be asked to fill in a booking profile, which will contain your personal details such as name, address, contact details, information about children (e.g. name, date of birth, age), as well as certain guarantee and deposit information required to secure the booking, such as credit card number. By transmitting your personal information, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions contained in this Privacy Policy. Due to the personal nature of the information provided, the booking system is secure, protecting the credit card number with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology, transmitting it over a private network.
Bookings are secured by the Ynnov platform.
During your stay
During the stay, Casa da Aldeia may record your details to create a database, which helps in the event that the guest wishes to stay in one of the flats again, and other possible invoiced expenses. This information is also recorded in order for Casa da Aldeia to fulfil financial reporting requirements, including those imposed by government auditors and regulators. Certain information may be collected as required by local laws (e.g. passport data for SEF – Foreigners and Borders Service). Information relating to the stay may also be stored (e.g. health problems, special requests, service problems). This data is kept in Casa da Aldeia’s property management system and is combined with information from previous visits. In addition, the content of any documents sent before, during or after your stay (including letters, comment cards, electronic documents such as emails and other similar forms of communication) may be retained. This information may be shared with employees.
Storage of Personal Data
Personal information is stored in a secure place, either a database or an archive. In addition, measures are taken to ensure that only designated individuals have access to this information. So that we can serve you better and in a more personalised way, your profile is stored in Management Systems, the central booking management platform. Other transaction information is kept, such as the number of stays and the number of nights of each stay.
Personal Information Transmitted to Third Parties
Agents, contractors or third party service providers may receive your personal information in the course of providing services to the accommodation, so that Casa da Aldeia can respond more effectively to the Guest’s needs. Using contractual or other agreements, Casa da Aldeia ensures that these parties protect any personal information in a manner consistent with the principles articulated in this Privacy Policy. Personal data will only be shared without your consent, outside of the services, where: (1) it is required or authorised by law to do so (for example, in response to a legal subpoena); (2) it is necessary to provide the services requested by you, in which case it will be considered implied consent (for example, car hire); (3) if the stay has been paid for by a third party (billing information will be provided to the paying party).
Personal Information Retention Time
Personal information will be stored for the minimum period required by law in the jurisdiction for any Hotel Unit (5 years). Periodically, and if you have not stayed in any of the flats for a certain period, personal information may be deleted.
Accessing, modifying and deleting personal information
You can access, correct, add, update or delete your personal data by contacting info@casaaldeiapovoadao.com. You may be asked for a copy of a valid ID document to protect your privacy and confirm your identity before making any changes.
